Camp SEA Lab

CYO Camp & Caritas Creek EE Center
Since 1946, CYO Camp has provided a positive summer camp experience for thousands of Bay Area youth. CYO Summer Camp is located two hours north of San Francisco on 216 acres of coastal redwood forest near the quaint town of Occidental, California.

East Bay Regional Park District
From sunlit shores to shade-covered hillsides, the East Bay Regional Park District spans more than 97,000 acres in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, offering experiences as diverse as the land itself. Our mission is to provide recreational opportunities, ensure the natural beauty of the land, and to protect wildlife habitat.

Education and the Environment Initiative
California is currently poised to lead the nation in environmental literacy. This effort is termed the EEI. The California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) and the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) are actively engaged in the implementation of the Education and the Environment Initiative (EEI)

A coupon book, a directory, an educational resource, the 2008 Green Zebra guides show you how to have fun living green in the Bay Area, while saving thousands of dollars too. Green Zebra is a healthy alternative fundraising product for schools and non profits. Available for Marin county, San Francisco and the Peninsula.

Greenbelt Alliance
In 1958, Dorothy Erskine, Jack Kent and colleagues founded Citizens for Regional Recreation and Parks (CRRP), an organization of environmentally concerned individuals and groups that would later become Greenbelt Alliance. CRRP was created to protect parks and recreational areas in the Bay Area.

Mountain Lion Foundation

River of Words
We’ve been conducting training workshops for teachers, park naturalists, grassroots groups, state resource agencies, librarians and others since 1995, helping them to incorporate observation-based nature exploration and the arts into their work with young people. In addition to helping improve children’s literacy—and cognitive skills like investigation and critical thinking—River of Words’ multidisciplinary, hands-on approach to education nurtures students’ creative voices as well, through instruction and practice in art and poetry.

Scroungers Center for Reusable Art Parts
SCRAP is a creative reuse center, store and workshop space founded in 1976 in San Francisco, California. Donations of re-usable materials such as textiles, paper, jewelry findings, wood, buttons and plastics are collected from businesses, institutions and individuals and distributed to art and educational groups.

Sea Trek Marine Educational Programs
Offering classes, trips rentals and sales from the beach at Schoonmaker Pt. Marina in Sausalito. It is a world class location for beginning or advanced paddlers.

Sea Turtle Restoration Project
The Sea Turtle Restoration Project fights to protect endangered sea turtles in ways that make cultural and economic sense to the communities that share the beaches and waters with these gentle creatures. With offices in California and Costa Rica, STRP has been leading the international fight to protect sea turtle populations worldwide.

Slide Ranch
Founded in 1970, Slide Ranch is a non-profit teaching farm located at a historic coastal dairy perched above the ocean in the Marin Headlands within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA). Slide Ranch staff operate the farm using a turn of the century farmhouse, old creamery and several outbuildings situated along a scenic coastal bluff. Organic gardens, goats, sheep, chickens and ducks, along with numerous coastal trails, tide-pools and pocket beaches, provide an ideal outdoor venue for teaching about healthy foods, healthy living and environmental awareness.

SPAWN
SPAWN, the Salmon Protection And Watershed Network works to protect endangered salmon in the Lagunitas Watershed, and the environment on which we all depend. SPAWN uses a multi-faceted approach to accomplish our mission including grassroots action, habitat restoration, policy development, research and monitoring, citizen training, environmental education, strategic litigation, and collaboration with other organizations and agencies.

US Army Corps of Engineers (San Francisco District)
For 225 years, the Corps has been a key builder of our national infrastructure. That mission continues today, along with new responsibilities for sustaining a healthy natural environment. Today the District’s area of responsibility covers approximately 40,000 square miles. Most of the territory parallels the Northern California coastline for approximately 600 miles from the Oregon border to just south of Monterey. The District also has responsibility for the Klamath River Basin in southern Oregon.
